HOUSE RULES

Check-In

Is any time after 2pm, if you arrive early, you can leave your bags in our luggage room free of charge and enjoy our common area, restaurant and pool. If you’re tired from the journey you can kickback in our amazing lounges and wait for your room to be available.

 

ID and Age Restrictions

All guests are required to present a valid Passport or photographic government issued Identification Cards (this does not include driving licenses). Our hostel welcomes guests of all ages, except those under the age of 18.

 

Payment

We accept Visa, Master Card, and Cash (Quetzales, USD and Euro). Please be aware that there is a 10% charge on payments with a credit card. There is no ATM in El Paredon, but we can arrange a Tuk-Tuk to the next town, if you need to withdraw money.

 

Room Key

If you lose your key please understand that we will charge you a 40Q compensation.

 

Check-Out

Is any time before 11am. Just bring your belongings and your key card to reception, we’ll take care of the rest. (Checking out after 11am will incur an additional charge). Again you can leave your bags in our luggage room free of charge and enjoy our common area, restaurant and pool for the rest of the day.

 

Lockers

Are available in the room to store your valuables and charge them while you are out and about.

 

Padlocks, Adaptors, and Beach Towels

Available for sale or hire, ask reception for details.

 

Food and Alcohol

We do not allow for you to bring any food or alcohol from the outside. Please do not bring and eat any food in the room, we will check the room upon checkout and will ask for compensation if this rule is not followed. We have to bars for you to purchase drinks, please be respectful and not bring your own drinks. We have drinking water available for free for all our guests.

 

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted in the rooms, nor in the common area of the first floor. Any guests caught smoking in the room or upstairs will receive a 1000Q fine and ask to leave with no refunds. Our roofs are made out of palm leaves so the fire hazard is very high.

 

Drugs

Any guest found taking illegal drugs within the premises will be asked to leave with no refunds issued. Depending on the circumstances we may contact the police if deemed necessary or required.

 

Weapons

Mellow Hostel stands for a peaceful environment and is absolutely against any kind of weapon. No guns, arms or any kind of weapon is allowed on the premises. Anyone found disrespecting this rule will be asked to leave. This rule also applies to bodyguards.

 

Attitude and Behavior

Our hostel is a place for a warm happy atmosphere of co-inhabiting. We will not allow any type of racism or homophobia. Anyone found disrespecting other guests’, staff members, neighbors, or behaving in an inappropriate or disruptive manner will be asked to leave with no refunds.

 

Pets

As much as we love them ourselves, unfortunately we are unable to accommodate or allow pets for our Hostel guests in all common areas and room areas, in consideration of allergy-suffering guests. We do allow pets on a leash in the restaurant area, if they behave.
