TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These terms and conditions shall apply to contracts regarding the renting of hostel rooms or beds in hostel rooms for accommodation, as well as to all other services. The contract shall come into effect through the acceptance of the customers application by the hostel. The acceptance shall take place in the form of a booking confirmation from the Hostel.

The valid house rules shall also be part of the Contract. Click house rules  to read them on the website and they are displayed in the Hostel. A printout can also be requested by the Customer at the Hostel.

Booking

Only customers with the age 18 or higher can book a room in this Hostel. Younger guests are not allowed on the premises.

On weekends we only accept bookings with the minimum of a 2 nights stay.                                                            

You can book your stay through booking.com, hostelworld.com, agoda.com, hotels.com, air bnb and our website. We do not take any reservations through telephone. If you want to make a reservation through Mail, you will get sent a payment link, which you will have to pay within 24 hours.

When you make a reservation you will be asked to pay a deposit for the first night and to leave your Credit Card Details. These details enable our hotel to request authorisation by your credit card company if you do not cancel your stay in time. Please read our cancellation policy for more information.

Cancellation Policy

We have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Full refund will be given if booking is cancelled 48 hours prior to the check in time (2 PM) on the day of your arrival. Failure to let us know within that time will result in no refund for your deposit (first night). 

You accept these rules when you make your booking.

Check In and Check Out

Check In is at 2 pm. If you arrive before, you can store your bags in our luggage room.

Check Out is at 11am. Please inform us if you want to stay another night during the day on the day before.

Room Key

If you lose your key, please understand that we will charge you a 40Q compensation.

Payment

Upon Check In you will be asked for identification (passport if you are not from Guatemala, if not your DPI) and to pay your stay. We work with a tab system, if you wish to have a tab, we will hold onto your identification document until you check out and pay your tab. If you want to stay in the Hostel common areas after Check Out it is possible to also pay in cash or with Card (+10% additional charge) at the bar and restaurant. All the rates include local tax requirements (12% VAT & 10% tourism tax).

Please note that there is no ATM in El Paredon and we charge 10% on your bill when paying with a credit card. We accept Visa, AMEX and Mastercard.

Pets

As much as we love them ourselves, unfortunately we are unable to accommodate or allow pets for our Hostel guests in all common areas and room areas, in consideration of allergy-suffering guests. We do allow pets on a leash in the restaurant area, if they behave.

Parking

We offer free parking for our hotel guests. Please let us know if you plan on coming with more than one car, as we have a limited parking area.

Withdrawal of the Hostel

If the customer does not comply with the house rules, the hostel will withdraw this customer from the hostel. There will be no compensation.

Force Majeure
In the event either party is unable to perform its obligations under the terms of this Agreement because of acts of God, e.g. terrorism, extreme weather, labor strikes, cessation of transportation, outbreak of disease, equipment or transmission failure or damage reasonably beyond its control, or other causes reasonably beyond its control, such party shall not be liable for damages to the other for any damages resulting from such failure to perform or otherwise from such causes. 

Third Party Rights
If a third party has made a reservation on behalf of the client, such third party and the client shall be jointly and severally liable to the hotel for all obligations arising out of the hotel accommodation contract. 

Severance
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held by any competent authority to be invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part the validity of the other provisions of these Terms and Conditions and the remainder of the provision in question shall not be affected.
